‘Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum’ Hosts Annual Meeting of Shmeisani District’s Local Security Council
AMMAN – The Local Security Council of Shmeisani Police District has held its monthly meeting at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-KF) in the presence of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), Head of Shmeisani Police District, Lieutenant Colonel Ghazwan Al-Qablan, the representative of the Amman Central Traffic Department, and the Director of the Al-Abdali District. The meeting discussed the habit of firing gunshots during weddings and various occasions and the means to prevent it, the new Traffic Law, and the preparations for winter.
In his statement at the event, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh welcomed the attendees, praising the field of security and social services' great efforts and addressing various areas of interest. He also affirmed his support for the General Security Service, Community Police, and the local Security Council of Shmeisani for their role in maintaining public order and protecting security.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh continued by highlighting the importance of introducing smart and practical solutions to reduce traffic congestion. One of these solutions is to establish smart automated car parking systems, which currently is applicable in China, contributing significantly to reducing traffic congestion caused by improper parking and street misbehavior. He urged the Traffic Department to implement the system as effectively as possible in order to find solutions to the severe traffic problems.
For his part, Lt. Col. Al-Qablan thanked Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for hosting the Council’s monthly meeting at TAG-KF. He stressed the need to continue raising awareness on the dangers of festive firing, pointing out that an honor pact will be signed among the residents of the district prohibiting participation in any celebration or event that involves firing.
Lt. Col. Tarek Freihat, representative of the Central Amman Traffic Department, addressed some of the traffic problems that fall under the jurisdiction of the Shmeisani area. He discussed the new Traffic Law, its advantages and penalties, as well as its goal in safeguarding citizens from serious traffic violations that lead to major accidents, noting that penalties and fines are only intended to deter the careless driver who causes traffic accidents.
As a representative of the Greater Amman Municipality, Eng. Sahar Al-Ghazawi, a member of the Municipal Board, briefed the gathering on the preparatory measures made by the Municipality for the winter season, which include inspecting pedestrian tunnels and vehicle bridges, and submersible pumping, in addition to carrying out the necessary maintenance.
At the end of the meeting, the Local Council members expressed their confidence in the Public Security Directorate, praising its efforts in maintaining public security and providing social services to citizens.
